Spawn (1997) is a dark superhero film based on the popular Image Comics character created by Todd McFarlane. Directed by Mark A.Z. Dippé, the movie stars Michael Jai White as Al Simmons, a government assassin betrayed and murdered, who is resurrected as Spawn—a demonic warrior caught between heaven and hell. Featuring John Leguizamo as the villainous Clown/Violator and Martin Sheen as Jason Wynn, the film blends action, horror, and supernatural elements.
